Liberty

God does not want you in bondage, he wants you free!!

By Rev. Cathryn Ndyabagye

Back in the Old Testament God released the slave and told the people do not put people into slavery again. The people didn't listen and put people into slavery and it made God angry...

Jeremiah 34:10 Now when all the princes and all the people, who had entered into the covenant, heard that everyone should set free his male and female slaves, that no one should keep them in bondage anymore, they obeyed and let them go.

11 But afterward they changed their minds and made the male and female slaves return, whom they had set free, and brought them into subjection as male and female slaves.

After God saw that they disobeyed this is what he said to them...

Jeremiah 34:17-22 read...17-18 says “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord—‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth. 18 And I will give the men who have transgressed My covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before

God brings freedom into our lives. Jesus set us free to be free with liberty.

Galatians 51 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a] and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage

Bondage can be many things. Being controlled by others to where we can't have the freedom to make our own choices, can be to fall into sin again, and can be to accept fear to control you so you can't go forward in trusting God. There are many ways we can allow bondage to come into our lives.

But when Jesus came he set us free from bondage, and sin. .

John 8:36 NKJV

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Yet humans sometimes stay in sin, or allow themselves to live bondage. They choose to walk in that bondage instead of walking away from it. God can help you overcome and be free.

There is nothing like being free in the Holy Spirit! Letting Him lead instead of allowing man to run your life.

Men make mistakes but God leads us to truth of the Word.

Will you give God a chance to make that change in your life so you can be free?

The choice is yours. You choose this day whom you will serve.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Repent and start over and allow God to help you.

Or continue to rebel and not make things right with God, which is the source of bondage for you.

2 Peter 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
